Music Biography

Early Education

Kevin was born in St. Cloud, MN and raised in Baltimore, MD. As a child, he pursued music and dance formally at Peabody School of Music and Dance, and Kinetics Dance Theatre, in addition to private piano lessons and pedagogy.

Kevin expanded his formal studies at both universities and conservatories in Virginia, New York and France, most notably on scholarship through Hamilton College at the Sorbonne (Paris III, Paris VII) in Paris, France, and later at the La Rochelle Conservatory in La Rochelle, France.

As a student in La Rochelle, Kevin studied the songs and tablature of Baroque and Medieval writers, specializing in 8-course Lute, Harpsichord and Counter-tenor under the tutelage of instructor Hervé Carasmel.

Upon returning to the United States, he moved to New York City, where he continued studies privately in Baroque and early music on 8-course Lute with Brooklyn-based Frank Galante, and in voice and music theory with Ann Ruckert, founder of the Jazz Foundation of America.
